Mouthguards and Nightguards

As an athlete, you need the best gear possible. We offer top quality athletic mouth guards to protect your teeth whenever you practice or compete.

Mouthguards and Night Guards

We understand the importance of safeguarding your oral health, especially during physical activities and while you sleep. That’s why we emphasize the necessity of mouthguards and nightguards for certain activities or harmful habits.

Our custom-made mouthguards are crafted from lightweight materials to ensure comfort and effectiveness. They are designed not to interfere with breathing or speech, and they offer optimal protection against impacts, reducing the risk of serious oral injuries.

Similarly, our night guards protect against the harmful effects of bruxism, such as teeth grinding and clenching during sleep. Wearing a night guard can prevent potential dental issues like fractures, breakages, and jaw pain, promoting better sleep quality and overall oral well-being.

  • What are the different types of mouthguards and nightguards?

The three most common and widely used types of mouthguards include:

Stock Mouth Protectors that are pre-formed and ready to wear. These types of mouthguards are available over the counter and are not customized or built to adjust to fit.

Boil and Bit Mouth Protectors are very similar to Stock Mouth Protectors but can be boiled in water to soften and form a more custom fit to the mouth.

Custom Fit Mouthguards and Nightguards are the types your dentist will provide. These guards are formed and molded based on imprints of your teeth to fit your mouth specifically. These types of mouthguards and nightguards are the most effective.

  • How do I clean my mouthguard?

There are a lot of germs and bacteria in your mouth, so cleaning your mouthguard or nightguard is important. Here are some methods to choose from:

Use toothpaste. Rinse your mouthguard or nightguard in water and use a toothbrush to gently rub the toothpaste into the guard and clean it. Lay flat to dry.

Use soap and water. Rinse your mouthguard or nightguard in water and use a toothbrush to gently rub the soap and water into the guard and clean it. Lay flat to dry.

Use baking soda. Baking soda removes bad odors from your guard as well, so if this is a concern of yours, this is a way to safeguard against smells. To clean with baking soda, combine equal parts baking soda and water in a bowl to make a paste. Gently rub the paste on your guard to clean it. Lay flat to dry.

Use mouthwash. Rinse your mouthguard or nightguard in water and drop it in a glass of mouthwash. Let it soak for 30 minutes, then rinse. Lay flat to dry.

Use Denture Cleaner. Rinse your mouthguard or nightguard in water and drop it in a glass of nonabrasive denture cleaner.  Let it soak according to the instructions, then rinse. Lay flat to dry.

  • How does a nightguard help with teeth grinding?

Nightguards won’t fully prevent teeth grinding and clenching while you sleep, but they keep your jaw muscles from fully clenching down or becoming 100% engaged, so it decreases the urge to clench or grind.
